We've certainly had our fair share of snow this year....and we're not even half way through winter yet. We had so much snow last week, that school was out last week. However, it wasn't really the snow that caused the schools to be closed - it was the ice. We had 4-5 inches of snow and then at least another 1/4 inch of ice on top of that. Every time anything tried to melt (not that it happened often), it would freeze over night. We had lots of good together time as a family and weren't able to leave the house. By Thursday, I did get out and go to work. Even with leaving at 10am, there were two lanes of 285 closed that were covered in 2-3 inches of ice. I had never seen anything like it.
